Back in February I had a blog post up about the limited edition Modern Icon Collection from Artistry, and I was luck enough to be sent some of the products to try out.
This isn't a sponsored post or an advent however I did receive the products for free. All opinions are my own :)
I was sent out the signature color shimmer powder eye duo in shade so chic and also the signature color lip shine in shade soft rose.
The first product I tried out was the lip shine. It looked lovely in the bullet and has a little twisty thing at the bottom to get more product out. I swatched it on my hand before putting it on my lips and I couldn't believe the colour pay off... most lip shines have a slight colour but don't transfer on swatches however the Artistry lip shine left a fantastic colour on my hand.
I suffer with dry lips and was worried this would dry out my lips... I had no need to worry this lip shine was soo creamy and hydrating that my lips felt amazing. It felt like I had no product on which I love as I hate when a product is sticky or heavy on the lips.
Now onto the real test, staying power!
Wow is all I can say, for a lip shine and not an actual lip stain/lipstick this has crazy staying power. I had a drink and ate my lunch and yes a little of the product faded but it was still clearly visible and still felt hydrating on the lips!
The colour was beautiful too and soo easy to wear it is a lovely dusky pink shade that had a real shine, when the light hits it you would almost think it was a gloss. I am soo impressed and will definitely be purchasing the other shade for myself.
Then onto the Artistry shimmer powder eye duo.. the little pots are soo adorable and the packing was lovely as well... I received a creamy golden shade and a light/medium blue.
The eye shimmer is really easy to apply as the little pot has a brush in the lid that dips down into the powder, making it easy to use on the go and stops a lot of product waste. I really liked the idea of this as it wont take up much room in your makeup bag :)
I loved the creamy golden shade, it was so easy to wear and both shimmer powders can be wore alone or on top of shadow. The cream shimmer was a lot easier to wear than the blue as it is almost like a pearl glitter so it really made any colour of eyeshadow look beautiful.
The blue shade was harder to wear as it could only really be used with blue/green shadows.
I have to admit I loved the creamy golden shimmer pot as the colour pay off was really good, a little product went along way and was easy to see on the eye, however the blue shade was a little bit of a let down for me, I had to use a lot of product to get a decent colour payoff and even then it wasn't all that shimmery.
Overall I am really impressed with the items I have tried from the Modern Icon Collection and as always Artistry is one of my top rated brands :)
I hope you all enjoyed my little review.
Lots of love...
